Here’s some poetry that I created over the years for various purposes.

Reflections on a Forgotten Lake

The lake around us seems so cold, alone,
My weary eyes can scarcely see the shore,
Frozen in time beneath the water’s roar,
The stillness grips me, chills down to the bone.

We’ve forgotten how to be soothed or shown,
The paths that once were clear are lost once more,
In shadows deep, we stumble and implore,
We’ve lost ourselves in a palace of unknown.

Our contemplation, endless, brings us pain,
As wandering minds seek solace in the past,
Yet find the silence only makes it worse,
We search for meaning, though the search is vain,
The questions linger, answers never last,
And time moves on, indifferent to our curse.

A Spiritual Sea

Steering a lonely old ship,
I sail the spiritual sea.
Only destiny rides with me.

Seething, my fire burns hot.
I mind my own business not.
Blood calls for blood, ready for what?

The ocean is rocky and wet.
It's filled with the stink of regret.
I muster my thoughts,
I gather my mind,
And I sail through the spiritual sea.

You and I

You.
It started with us,
But when one started a lie.
The lie felled a tale,
We began to fly.

We were, at last,
High and fast,
A tied up horse,
Made to race, not last.

And then a slip,
You, and me.
Plurals lost their meaning
We became you.
I.

Gentle Dagger

I see the world through misty lenses,

And I don’t mean my glasses.

I feel the sweat upon my brow,

But I don’t feel a gladness.

Time feels paused around us,

But my nightmares still pursue me.

My very soul cries out for you,

Yet what you offer splits me in two.

The lies, the stink,

The wretched pit,

The trials, the guilt,

The protective grip…

Shadows and murmurs—

Our wretched heap—

It poisons space—

Our dignity…

It raises our own difficulty.

A fortress grows around me so,

Armoured heart, aligned with woes,

Flayed and freckled flesh now lie,

After every “I love you” it’s “goodbye.”
